Project Description
For a lakeside home on Lake Winnipesaukee, only natural wood felt right. This Wolfeboro family wanted the warmth and character of real cedar — a deck that belonged among the pines and matched the setting they fell in love with — while making the most of a wide, unobstructed view of the water. Their old deck sat too low and too small to enjoy the lake, so they came to Decks US for something warmer, larger, and built to last through New Hampshire’s demanding winters.
We designed and built a wraparound deck in hand-selected Western Red Cedar, a wood prized for its rich, warm color and natural resistance to rot and insects. The layout follows the back of the home to capture the best lake views from every angle, with a cedar pergola shading a dining area and stainless cable railing keeping the sightlines to the water wide open. Built-in cedar benches add seating without crowding the space, and low-voltage path and step lighting carries the evening well past sunset. Every footing was set below the frost line with stainless hardware throughout, and the entire deck was finished with a penetrating sealer to lock in that warm cedar tone and repel moisture through New Hampshire winters. The result is a natural, timeless deck that looks like it was always meant to be on the lake.
