Project Description
This coastal Narragansett project is currently underway — and it’s a perfect example of why Trex is such a smart choice by the water. The homeowners wanted a low-maintenance deck that could stand up to Rhode Island’s salt air, sun, and shoulder-season swings without the annual sanding and staining a wood deck demands, all while opening their backyard to the shoreline view. Trex® Transcend® was the natural fit: a high-performance composite that resists fading, staining, and moisture and carries a 25-year warranty, so they can spend their time enjoying the deck instead of maintaining it.
Now taking shape on site, the deck is being built in Trex® Transcend® with hidden fasteners for a clean, screw-free surface, and framed in slim cable railing that will keep the ocean view wide open. When complete, it will feature built-in composite bench seating, integrated deck and stair lighting for coastal evenings, and an orientation designed around the water view. Because it sits so close to the shore, every connector and fastener is stainless and coastal-grade to resist salt-air corrosion, and the footings are set below the frost line for New England freeze-thaw. We’ll update this page with finished photos once construction wraps — expected end of July 2026.
