Custom Decks, Engineered for New England Living
A deck that looks beautiful the day it’s built — and still stands strong after a decade of Nor’easters, snow load and freeze-thaw. Custom-designed for your home, your yard and the way you live outdoors.
More Than a Deck — Outdoor Living Built for This Climate
A custom deck has to survive a New England winter before it gets to be beautiful in July. That's the standard we build to. Decks US designs and engineers custom decks around your home, your yard and the way you live outdoors — then foots them below the frost line, frames them for real snow load and finishes them to shrug off salt air and freeze-thaw.
We're not a national franchise working off a template. We're New England's outdoor-living specialists, so the deck we'd design for a walk-out slope in MetroWest isn't the one we'd build for a salt-air lot on the Cape. Yours is drawn around your space, your sightlines and how you actually use it.

Custom Deck FAQs
How much does a custom deck cost in Massachusetts / New England?
Most custom decks here run from about $15,000 for a smaller pressure-treated build to $45,000+ for a large multi-level composite deck with railings, lighting, and built-ins. Material is the biggest factor — pressure-treated ~$30–45/sq ft installed, composite ~$45–75, premium PVC ~$70–95. Use our Deck Cost Calculator for an exact figure.
Is composite or wood better for New England weather?
For most homeowners, composite (Trex, TimberTech) or capped PVC (AZEK) is the smarter long-term choice — they resist moisture, freeze-thaw, and salt air with no annual sanding, staining, or sealing. Cedar and pressure-treated cost less up front but need more upkeep here.
Do you handle the building permit?
Yes. We pull all permits and manage town inspections so your deck is fully code-compliant — you don’t touch the paperwork.
How long does a custom deck take to build?
Usually a few days to a couple of weeks once permits are approved, depending on size and complexity. You get a clear timeline with your quote.
Will a deck add value to my home?
Yes — decks are among the highest-ROI projects. In the Boston market a wood deck returns ~66% of its cost and a composite deck can raise home value ~72.5%.
Can you build on a sloped or walk-out yard?
Absolutely — multi-level and elevated decks are a specialty, with footings below the frost line for stability.
